Urban Sketchers
Rusted Tin Building
The rust stained corrugated metal building caught my eye today as I was driving around town looking for a sketch opportunity. It is ironic that this building is the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Tree Trimming Facility, After this long winter, it is appropriate that a building used for tree trimming would be all rusted and look like it has not been occupied in a long time. Boston Celtics
A great evening at the TD Bank Boston Garden to see the Boston Celtics play the Charlotte Hornets. The game got very slow in the 3rd quarter so I sketched the scoreboard from our seats on the upper level. Celtics won the game in the end. Pigma Micron Pens in a Moleskine watercolor book. Might add a little color to this tomorrow.

Brick Block – Chatham, MA
A day trip to Cape Cod today after the blizzard of yesterday left over 20″ of snow. This sketch was done in the car parked across the street from the building. You sketch where you can in mid-winter in New England at 16 degrees and high winds. The Brick Block is a historic commercial building on Main Street and Chatham Bars Road in Chatham, Massachusetts. The 1-1/2 story English Revival structure was built in 1914 by Joseph Nickerson, a master mason, to a design by architect Harvey Bailey Alden. It originally housed shops on the first floor and residences on the upper floor. The block was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
