A little down time after way too many meetings. Driving back to the airport we stop at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort for a cocktail on the veranda that is 50′ from the beach. Beautiful views up and down the beach with High tide. This was done later from a photograph. I must improve my confidence in field sketching in busy locations. Floor Sander
This is how I spent half of my day today, helping my friend Keith sand his basement floors in preparation for stain. This was a difficult item to sketch in that it is bright chrome and hard to get the subelt shades and reflections. I just knew it had to be drawn since I we spent so much time with it. Spring Equinox?
According to the sun and the stars, this is the first day of Spring. With snow in the forecast again and the piles of snow in around the Sharon View Nursery in Sharon, Massachusetts, I am not sure that Mother Nature wants Spring to arrive yet. 40 minutes, Faber-Castell Art Pens in an Alpha Series Stillman and Birn Sketchbook.

Waiting for Spring
This sketch is based on a photograph taken last week at Soltice Restaurant in Kingston, MA. The Adirondack chairs and old luggage cart appear as if they are waiting for the snow to melt and Spring to arrive along the tracks. This train station was built in 1889 for the Old Colony Railroad. There was passenger service to this station (mostly for the New York, New Haven & Hartford RR, which took over this line in 1893) until 1959. Penny Pinchers Exchange
The Penny Pinchers Exchange is a consignment shop in Marion, Massachusetts that raises money for the First Congregational Church in Marion. In 1885 Elizabeth Taber gave the church the Chapel Building located just up the street from the church. The building was used for Sunday School and Prayer Meetings prior to it’s current use.Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens in an 8″ x 10″ Alpha Series Stillman and Birn Sketchbook.
