Roma Tomatoes

Roma Tomato a plum tomato popularly used both for canning and producing tomato paste because of their slender and firm nature. Commonly found, Roma tomatoes are also known as Italian tomatoes or Italian Plum Tomatoes. Roma tomatoes are egg or pear shaped and red when fully ripe. They have fewer seeds than other varieties which make them good for sauces. This sketch is of 3 tomatoes that varied in color from a very light green to a ripe red/orange. Seaweed

A beautiful day on the beach at Little Harbor in Wareham, Massachusetts. Some interesting seaweed that comes in a multitude of greens from lime green to very dark green. The seaweed attaches itself to small shells for a little weight and then gets pushed along the bottom or suspended in the water by the tides and waves. The start of a great weekend with some of my college friends in town from the Washington D.C. area. Our class at Oklahoma State University School of Architecture was affectionately known as the Finks. Dinner tonight is at our favorite restaurant, The Blue Eyed Crab in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Phlox is Greek for the work “flame” and is a genus of 67 species of perennial or annual flowering plants in the family. They are found mostly in North America in diverse habitats from alpine tundra to open woodland and prairie. Some flower in spring, others in summer and fall. Flowers may be pale blue, violet, pink, bright red, or white. We have both the ground cover variety that bloom in early Spring and the tall vertical type that is blooming now as shown in the sketch.
