Cape Rep Theatre

The Cape Rep Theatre was founded in 1986 in Brewster, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Their current home is the former Camp Monomoy which includes the Indoor Theatre (former Dining Hall), Outside Theatre, Cape House and the Barn shown in this sketch. The Barn was built in in the late 19th century. A current fund raising effort is underway to restore the barn for continued use by Cape Rep. Tonight we saw an amazing performance of Hairspray. Fantastic show and a very talented group of actors and singers. Pilot Falcon fountain pen with Noodler’s Bulletproof black ink and Holbein watercolors in a Stillman and Birn sketchbook.

Carmel Mission

Mission San Carlos Borroméo del río Carmelo in Carmel-by-the-sea. The mission was the headquarters of the Alta California missions headed by Saint Junipero Serra from 1770 until his death in 1784. It was also the seat of the second presidente, Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuen. The mission buildings and lands were secularized by the Mexican government in 1833, and had fallen into disrepair by the mid-19th century. They were partially restored beginning in 1884. In 1886 it was transferred from the Franciscans to the local diocese and has continued as a catholic parish church since then. It is the only one of the California Missions to have its original bell tower dome. 1948 Ford F-6

Saw this rusted 1948 Ford F-6 truck cab without the flatbed at Westport River vineyards. The first-generation Ford T-series was a series of pick-up trucks and commercial vehicles produced by Ford. Introduced in 1948, the F-Series was the first post-war truck design from Ford. In a break from previous Ford trucks, the F-Series was no longer based upon its car chassis, but on a dedicated truck platform.  It had a flat, one-piece windshield and integrated headlamps and a wider cab. Options included the “See-Clear” windshield washer (operated by foot plunger), passenger-side windshield wiper & sun visor, and passenger-side taillight. The F-1 truck was also available with additional chrome trim and two horns as an option. Pilot Falcon fountain pen with Noodler’s Bulletproof black ink in a Stillman and Birn sketchbook.

Parish Park

A beautiful day on Cape Cod yesterday with time spent in Orleans and Wellfleet. This sketch is from a shaded bench in Parish Park on Main Street in Orleans. A small park with solitude from the busy street and the town wide sidewalk sale. Westport River Vineyards

We had a great time at the Summer Concert Series at Westport River Vineyards in Westport, Massachusetts. A very stormy evening with lightning all around, but it held off until the concert was almost complete. A fun thing to do on a summer evening. You can bring your own food and drink with beer and wine made on the property available also in addition to a raw bar and a food truck that had excellent food. This is a sketch of a barn and silo on an adjacent property. It was tucked amongst an abundance of green foliage.
