North Hempstead Elevation Study
A sketch of an elevation study for one of my current projects at the office. This is a study for a portion of the rear elevation of the clubhouse at North Hempstead Country Club in North Hempstead, NY. Trying to blend a new addition Grill Room to the existing architecture of a curved ballroom with a majority of glass. Various black pens with Faber Castell Pitt Art pens in grey on tracing paper.
Computer Rendering
This is a rough line drawing completed using Sketch-up computer program. The space is the proposed Member Grill Room on the first floor of a historic building located in Queens, New York. Typically a quick line drawing is created using the computer for accuracy and then a line drawing is traced over the top to produce the base for a rendering.
Framingham CC Pool
Another country club project master plan through the office. This is a view of the pool building at Framingham Country Club in Framingham, Massachusetts. The bright orange umbrellas were what drew me to this scene. Lamy Safari fountain pen with Noodler’s black ink and Holbein watercolors in a Stillman and Birn Beta sketchbook.
The Douglaston Club
The Douglaston Club is a private club in Little Neck, NY. We are completing a master plan for the club which is a unique and private yacht, tennis and pool club situated in the heart of the most desirably pleasant sections of New York City. The club is only minutes away by train to Manhattan, but a world away in lifestyle. This quick sketch is of the front porch and I was drawn to the potted geraniums with small American flags. Pilot Falcon fountain pen with Noodler’s black ink and Holbein watercolors in a Stillman and Birn Beta sketchbook.
