Mashpee Sunset
After a gray day with drizzle most of the day, the sun came out for a spectacular sunset. The location is Mashpee Commons in Mashpee, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Mashpee is a planned retail and office complex with a wonderful Cape Cod Aesthetic. This view is towards the central building with the colorful sunset and parting clouds beyond. The close of another wonderful summer month. Amazing sunset over Plymouth Harbor, perfectly calm with true reflections on the water like glass. The colors blended perfectly from deep orange on the horizon to a deep Cobalt in the upper sky. Difficult to achieve a graded wash in this sketchbook. Fruit Vendor
New York City is such a vibrant and colorful atmosphere. I just love the street vendors, especially the fruit vendors that bring color and life into the city. The Green Vendors, with the support of city government, immigrants from all over the world sell healthy food on the streets in low-income neighborhoods to not only tackle the urban food crisis in areas bereft of nutritious fare but also in the hopes of providing a better life for their children. Today is the Summer Solstice in North America. Even with the heavy rain, it is the season most anticipated in New England.
